Description

The Ripon College Department of Music invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2021. The directing load centers on leading both the college’s touring, auditioned chamber choir, as well as the college-community chorus. The remainder of the departmental teaching load includes courses in conducting, choral rehearsal techniques, music history, and music theory, with other teaching duties assigned based on department needs and candidate strengths. The person in this position is expected to lead annual regional choir tours, serving as an ambassador for the college and effectively recruiting prospective students. Successful candidates will demonstrate the desire and ability to contribute to the institution’s distinctive Catalyst curriculum, fostering critical inquiry through a musical lens. Candidates’ experience should reflect the College’s ongoing efforts to promote equity, and successful candidates will be able to speak specifically on a commitment to improving opportunity and outcomes for historically underserved groups. A doctoral degree is required; A.B.D. candidates will be considered.
