Description
The School of Music, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Voice Lecturer to join our team.
Responsibilities: The primary focus of this position is teaching the production of music for the stage across a range of musical genres and settings. Depending on the candidate's expertise, this could include Pop, Jazz, Hip Hop, or other commercial/contemporary styles and settings ranging from musical theater, to the concert hall, to online media, and more. The successful candidate will develop new courses or expand existing courses to teach the processes of production, with the possibility of producing staged performances. Additional responsibilities include teaching applied studio voice as needed. There is also the potential for collaborative projects with the Department of Theater.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a combination of education and significant professional experience with documented success as a vocal performer and teacher of vocal performance, as well as experience in producing and teaching the production of music for the stage. Evidence of a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and community engagement preferred.
