Virginia Musical Theatre will hold open auditions for the four shows comprising its 30th anniversary season on Saturday and Sunday, August 21 and 22, 2021.

Auditions for several roles in Mamma Mia!, and all roles in Forever Plaid, Over the Rainbow (Starring Tiffany Haas and Michael McCorry Rose), and The Full Monty will take place at The Governor’s School for the Arts, located at 254 Granby Street in Downtown Norfolk, will take place from 10 a.m,. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 22.

Many of the original cast members for Mamma Mia! will be returning for this encore presentation, however several principal male roles are open, as well as secondary and ensemble roles.

All auditionees will be asked to prepare two vocal selections in contrasting styles. You may sing from the shows. An accompanist will be provided. No a cappella singing or singing with a CD will be allowed. No monologue is required.You may be asked to read from a script, which will be provided at the time of the audition. Dance auditions and callbacks will be held on Sunday, August 22 and you will be told at the time of your vocal audition if you need to attend the dance auditions. Not all roles require dance.
