Auditions for THE PAJAMA GAME.

Conditions in the "Schlaf-Schön" pajama factory are anything but peaceful, when sparks fly between the new labor inspector Sid Sorokin and Babe Williams, chairwoman of the union's Chair of the union's grievance committee, ignite. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when workers strike for a 7 ½ cent wage increase, creating not only a conflict between management and labor, but also a battle of the sexes.

Featuring many comedic and splashy production numbers, including the world-renowned hit "Hernando's Hideaway," "The Pajama Game" is filled with standout roles and a dazzling ensemble cast of several small and medium sized roles. Virtually unknown in Germany, it is a perennial hit and audience favorite in the English-speaking world, as well as a shining example of a light, classic musical comedy.

Basic information: The play will be performed in a new German translation, so a sufficient knowledge of German is absolutely necessary.

All roles must have sufficient dance experience.

Basic requirement for ensemble roles: Strong, characteristic singing voices; demanding dance skills; strong sense and character for the smaller and medium roles.

• SID - (powerful baritone), playing age 25-40, handsome labor inspector. Strong character, charming and ambitious. Dissatisfied in previous positions, determined this time to do his job in the best way and to optimize the company.

• HINES - (baritone, comic role). Playing age 30-50 years, production manager in the pajama factory. Funny, pathologically jealous of his partner GLADYS, but also with a big heart - and talent in knife throwing.

• PREZ* (character tenor), playing age 25-45, president of the factory's union. Somewhat limited, notorious flirter and womanizer.

• BABE WILLIAMS - (powerful mezzo, Broadway belt), playing age 25-40, fearless Union Leader. Chair of the union grievance committee, who initially falls in love with Sid against her will. Strong, spirited, a little stubborn and full of pride in the union, but also charming and sensitive. The secret leader of the women and men who work in the factory.

• GLADYS - (character Old, good dancer), playing age 25-40 years, secretary and bookkeeper of Mr. HASLER. Her fondness for the night life of the city, together with her conscious appearance, excites the jealousy of her partner HINES. Demanding dance role.

• MABEL - (contralto) Sid's secretary. Playing age 35-55 years. Experienced, veteran and kind-hearted employee. Is aware of all the events in the company and cushions many of them with a light, subtle humor. a lot of things.
