Presenter
Summer Song, Soprano, is currently a full-time voice professor at Houston Christian University (HCU). Prior to joining HCU in 2017, Ms. Song worked as an adjunct voice professor at Texas Southern University (TSU) for five years. In the summer of 2022, she was accepted as a Vocal Pedagogy Artist by Aspen Music Festival Opera Theater and Vocal Arts Summit, where the class was hosted by Renee Fleming, the renowned Opera Star. From 2012 to 2017, Ms. Song was a summer opera Studio Artist of L’Arte Del Bel Canto in Milan, Italy, soon after receiving her Master of Music degree in vocal performance from Washington State University in 2006. Her recent performances include a leading role in the musical production "Greatest Love of All" and a collaborative concert with Houston Symphony musicians. Ms. Song has been a featured soloist associated with a variety of organizations throughout the United States, England, Singapore, Italy, China, Armenia and other countries. In addition, she has served as a judge for numerous major voice competitions. Ms. Song's voice students have become acclaimed professional opera singers, with some winning both nationwide and international singing competitions. Many of her students have also been accepted into prestigious Master's and Bachelor's music programs, such as New England Music Conservatory, Shepherd School of Music of Rice University, Eastman Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, Peabody Conservatory of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Yale University, Stanford University, and Harvard University, among others.
