Valerie MacPhail

Soprano Dr. Valerie MacPhail is the coordinator of the voice faculty at the Petrie School of Music at Converse University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate voice majors and Vocal Pedagogy classes. She is passionate about helping her students sing with freedom and ease, and communicate authentically and effectively with their own unique voices. She has performed over 30 solo vocal recitals, and enjoys collaborating with other musicians, as in a multi-performer exploration of songs on the poetry of Emily Dickinson. She recently helped create a collaborative program with students and colleagues entitled “Uprooting the Performer: Music in Motion.”
