Kathryn Cowdrick, an Eastman voice professor and parent of tenor Matthew Swensen presents a class and Q &A for parents of high school and college singers to learn how to negotiate auditioning and a life in college for musical performance.

Kathryn Cowdrick is a Professor of Voice at the Eastman School of Music. She also teaches vocal pedagogy and classes for the Institute for Music Leadership on how singers can prepare for careers upon leaving school. She is a graduate of Penn State and Columbia with degrees in speech pathology. She sang with the Juilliard Opera Center before beginning her career as an Adler Fellow with the San Francisco Opera. She spent 30 years singing in Europe and with many regional companies here at home after making her European debut singing Rossini roles for the Netherlands Opera.
