The Mental Map of Auditions – Goodbye Ego!

Professor Amanda Majeski provides perspective on how to use mindfulness, presence, empathy, and service to manage anxiety during auditions. As an active performer who herself has experienced performance anxiety, she will share reflections and strategies for working with and through nerves, allowing them to serve the performance, rather than inhibit.

Amanda Majeski

Internationally renowned American soprano Amanda Majeski joined the Department of Voice at the University of Michigan in 2022. She is an active performer, who has established herself as a celebrated interpreter of Strauss, Handel & Mozart. Recent career highlights include her debut with Boston Symphony in Britten’s War Requiem, her Ravinia Festival debut as Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and her standout performance as the title role in Ká?a Kabanová at Royal Opera, Covent Garden in 2019, which won Best New Opera Production at that year’s Olivier Awards.
