Scholarship Awards

The following schools will be offering scholarship awards at the Final Awards Concert on Monday, May 29 at 7:30 pm at the Marriott Marquis San Francisco. To be considered for a scholarship, visit the Expo Hall and fill out the Scholarship Interest Card.

Cleveland Institute of Music

Scholarship Details:
Four $20,000/year renewable tuition scholarships; Four $10,000/year renewable tuition scholarships.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
Contingent upon successful application, audition, admission, and matriculation into the Cleveland Institute of Music for a performance degree/diploma.

Columbus State University

Scholarship Details:
Four awards $7,500/year renewable talent awards for undergraduate study.

One award $6,000/year renewable talent award for graduate study.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
Undergraduate Awards: Students must apply and receive admission to the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University during their senior year of high school in order to officially receive the scholarship awarded during the Classical Singer convention. These awards are only applicable for Voice Majors within the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University; requires full-time student status for renewal of award for undergraduate study.

Graduate Award: Undergraduate final year of study and/or professional post masters degree for artist diploma; must apply and be accepted as a candidate for M.M. in Voice Performance or Artist Diploma at Columbus State University; requires full-time student residency status for renewal of award for a two year period.

Note: All voice types considered. Scholarship award priority will be given to students from Georgia or the surrounding regional states of TN, SC, NC, AL, and FL to provide optimal support with in-state tuition reciprocity for regional candidates. All national candidates will also be considered for this opportunity. Additional merit based scholarship awards, out of state tuition waivers, and/or graduate assistantships may also be available upon review of each candidate’s needs determined by the faculty at the time of the candidate’s application.

Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester

Scholarship Details:
Two $10,000/year renewable undergraduate tuition scholarships.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
Must apply, audition and and be accepted to the Eastman School of Music.

Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance – Center for Music

Scholarship Details:
$25,000/year renewable Ithaca College Scholarship.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
High School juniors; must apply and be accepted to a Music Major at Ithaca College; only applicable for Music Majors within the Center for Music at Ithaca College; requires full-time student status for renewal of award.

Lawrence University

Scholarship Details:
$32,000 scholarship, renewable each year while at Lawrence.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
Students must apply and receive admission to Lawrence University during senior year of high school in order to officially receive the scholarship awarded during the Classical Singer convention. The Classical Singer Vocal Competition may be used as the official college music audition if heard by a conservatory voice faculty member.

Oberlin Conservatory of Music

Scholarship Details:
Six $20,000/year renewable scholarships, one to each of the highest rated, rising high school senior vocalists of the following voice types (if available): soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
Must be a rising high school senior; must apply, audition and be accepted to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.

Pepperdine University

Scholarship Details:
Two 15,000/year renewable tuition scholarships.

Juniors who apply and are accepted to the university.

Scholarship Details:
One- $25,000.

Must apply and be accepted to the university and major in music with a vocal performance emphasis.

San Francisco Conservatory of Music

Scholarship Details:
Two half-tuition per year scholarships.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
Top placed low voice or tenor competition winners. Must complete full application and audition process to SFCM for Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Professional Studies Certificate within two years.

Scholarship Details:
Two $100 Scholarships for voice lessons; 1 w Donna Hinds Sawyers/ 1 w Robin Cotton Cobb.

The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts

Scholarship Details:
One $15,000/year renewable scholarship for our 2 year program.
Three $10,000/year renewable scholarships for our 2 year program.
Five $1,000 for our 4 week summer intensive program.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
For the 2 Year Scholarships- Must be a current senior or Junior. For the 4 week summer intensive, must be 16 years or older.

Scholarship Details:
$15,000 per year tuition scholarship.

Criteria and/or Stipulations:
High School Juniors or Seniors can be awarded- must successfully complete application and be accepted to NYCDA before scholarship is valid. No cash value.

Scholarship Details:
$20,000 Conservatory Merit, renewable up to four years.
