Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor: My family and I evacuated from New Orleans and are now temporarily in Orlando, Fl. We are lucky, compared to others, and therefore are not in need of help at this time. I’m only writing to say how much I appreciate what you are doing for this cause. I’m sure many other victims will feel the same way. Keep up the good work and I look forward to renewing my subscription to your magazine as soon as we can get back home and get New Orleans back up and running. Thanks again for all your compassion and efforts.

Dear Editor: Congratulations on your success! I remember all the way back to your beginning days.

Dear Editor: I have taken Classical Singer magazine for many years and have taken the advice of CJ Williamson on so many issues, i.e., finding my own niche as an older singer/teacher with a doctorate, building up self-esteem and the “can do” attitudes of myself and my students. I will miss her input greatly.
—Dr. Kathleen Allen, Instructor of Voice, Crane School of Music, Canton, N.Y.

Dear Editor: I really liked the dance article in the September 2005 issue. Dance helps develop breath control.
—John Tarlano, Springfield, Va.

Dear Editor: I’d like to see more articles for young professionals, those beyond graduate school. Also, the summer programs need coverage by different participants each year. I found little on the summer program in Salzburg this year. It was a good one.

Dear Editor: I attended the convention in New York City this past May, and enjoyed the atmosphere in Connecticut [in 2004] far more. I didn’t feel the structure and location [in New York] gave me the opportunity to network as I did last year. I did that with 12 people last year and not any this year. Please consider another school or nearby hotel again.

I love New York. I just didn’t feel it gave us the environment we needed. [The] rooms didn’t accommodate the needs.

Editor’s Note: The 2006 Convention will grace the Sheraton Hotel in the beautiful historic district in downtown Philadelphia. The hotel is charming and intimate to ensure a cozy environment perfect for networking. Be sure to join us!

Dear Editor: The Classical Singer magazine and the Classical Singer community website are invaluable resources. The information and insights I have gained from these sources have been extremely helpful to me in creating a singing career. I would highly recommend Classical Singer. Thank you for the support, aid, and encouragement you give to all people in the classical singing world.
