In response to the December 2011 issue:

Dear Editor: Since I began singing in 1967 and coming from the football field, I have advocated fitness for singers. Because of football, I was able to go to college and play ball at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. I began my studies at West Liberty State College in West Virginia and then completed my master’s of music at the New England Conservatory of Music. Yes, it’s very important to build and maintain a healthy sounding board for the voice.
