Hi Divas!
Happy September! Even three years out of school, I still get that “first day” feeling the moment this time of year rolls around. There’s something about the crisp air, fresh lineup of planners at Barnes & Noble, and the quiet hum of people easing back into their routines that makes me feel like we are collectively turning a page into a new chapter.
So, let’s step into it together. I invite you to pour yourself a warm drink, crack open a journal, and for the time being, set aside any stress inducing thoughts. Whether you’re starting classes, navigating an in-between season, or out in the “real world” with me, I am so excited to share A Diva’s Anti-Burn Out Guide to Fall with you:
- Reflect & Reset
Take stock of what’s been working for you and what hasn’t. Ask yourself:
- Am I doing (insert choice you are making) because I want to, or because I think I should?
- What choices would I make if I knew everything was guaranteed to work out?
- When have I felt the most joy this past year?
Use your findings to gently redirect toward the choices, habits and people that make you feel like the best version of yourself!
- Invest in Yourself
Choose to put your time and energy towards your future self. Maybe that means investing in a new hobby, signing up for a fun workout class, or carving out more space for rest.
- Reconnect
Everyone’s back from their summer adventures and settling into new routines. Which makes it the perfect time to check-in. A quick hello to a friend, mentor, or colleague could open doors you didn’t even know were waiting for you.
- Embrace the Season
Let fall remind you to slow down and get cozy. I always make a fall bucket list to welcome the season.
Here’s mine so far:
- Take long walks in the park and day dream
- Pumpkin spice everything
- A new fall scented candle
- Read a murder mystery book
- Watch When Harry Met Sally (my all time fave)
- Go to the MET Museum
- Apple/pumpkin picking
- Remember: You have time!
By September, you still have a whole third of the year left. That’s more than enough time to grow, pivot or start something new entirely! If you are feeling stuck, try taking the smallest step towards something you have been dreaming about. A year from now, you’ll be so glad you started today!
So, Divas, allow yourself to step into this season with joy and intention. It’s the start of a new chapter—only the page is blank and you get to write what comes next!
With love,
Teddy
