Bio

Aziza Poggi is an award-winning, classically trained mezzo-soprano and crossover singer from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She performs many genres of music, from classical, contemporary, rock, oriental, and musical theater. Aziza is often hired for recording projects, as well as weddings, concerts, and private events. In November of 2023, Aziza performed her classical recital to a sold-out house featuring other classically trained singers. She joined the West Michigan Opera Project in 2024 as a solo singer and choir member. Her performances with WMOP include chorus for the semi-staged opera “Carmen,” followed by “Remembering Puccini,” and in addition to concerts as both a soloist and choir member. Aziza's November 2024 recital at St. Cecilia Music Center was once again sold out. In April of 2025, Aziza performed at Carnegie Hall with WMOP to a welcoming crowd and an almost full venue. She recently won first place (Gold) in the Erik Satie International Music Competition, third place in the International Schubert Competition Vienna, and an Honorable mention in the Classical Music Stars Competition and Bach International Music Competition. She will be singing in a special Mozart concert in the fall, in addition to her own classical recital again in November 2025. Aziza has toured the US and performed in Europe as a soloist and with her symphonic rock band Aria Flame, including the prestigious Metal Female Voices Festival and Femme Festival. In June 2025, Aziza will graduate from Berklee College of Music with her BA in Interdisciplinary Music Studies. Aziza trains with Master Opera Coach and Instructor Nicholas Loren and owns a private voice studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
