Bio

Jesse Kliman, a baritone, has been passionate about classical music his entire life. A rising senior at DeMatha Catholic High School, he studies voice with Robert Cantrell. Though he has performed in musical theatre for over a decade, he began formal training in classical voice only in the last year. In that time, though, he placed 1st in the NATS MD/DC Competition, 2nd in the NATS Mid-Atlantic Regional Competition, and was named a finalist in Georgia's Schmidt Vocal Competition. Jesse is a member of Young Artists of America (YAA) at Strathmore, and his most notable show credits include Titanic (Barrett), Camelot (Arthur), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Clopin), and the youth premiere of Disney in Concert (Beast / Hercules). A 3-time selectee to the Maryland All-State Chorus, Jesse is also an accomplished pianist, cellist, and composer. His dream is to become a professional opera singer, and to work to make this enduring art form more vibrant and accessible to new audiences.
