Bio

Mina Brooks-Schmidt is a soprano from Sitka, Ak. She attends Carnegie Mellon University where she studies voice under Maria Spacagna. She has been studying voice for 10 years. She is a major fan of opera and story-telling in general, having performed in over 30 productions of operas, plays and musicals. Most recently, she sang the role of Oberto in Handel’s Alcina and The Princess in Conrad Susa’s Transformations. She has also sung annually since 2015 as a soloist at Sitka’s Holiday Brass Concert, performing with brass musicians from major American orchestras. She is a Schmidt Vocal Arts finalist and Hal Leonard Competition finalist for both the musical theater and classical competitions. Mina previously studied voice with Rhiannon Guevin.
