Shikahi, a BassBaritone, United States Navy Veteran, and junior at Howard University, is pursuing a major in Classical Voice Performance. In 2023,Shikahi was selected as the soloist representing the College of Fine Arts Classical Voice
Department at Howard University for Presidential Inauguration, a key highlight in his growing career. With two years of experience in both the Howard University Chorale and Choir, Shikahi has performed in notable events and settings. He has participated in masterclasses under renowned Baritone Eric Greene, Bass Kevin Thompson, World Renowned conductor Giovanni Reggioli and Soprano Brandie Sutton in Washington, D.C., refining his vocal artistry. In the summer of 2024, Shikahi placed in the semifinals of the CS Vocal Music Competition, a
national contest held in Washington, D.C. He is currently serving as the 2025 Cafritz Young Artist Intern at the Kennedy Center located in Washington D.C. Shikahi is currently being taught by Angela
PowellWalker, his voice teacher, and performs with four respected choirs: The Concert Choir, The Washington Douglass Chorale, The Sam Bonds Chorale, and The Georgetown Chorale, based in Washington, D.C., and Silver Spring, Maryland.
With a deep dedication to mastering the art of classical singing, Shikahi continues to pursue his passion and advance his career as a vocalist. Most recently, being selected as a Cantate Choral Fellow Scholar for Black Indigenous People of Color under the direction of Victoria Gau located in Washington D.C.
