Viveka Saravanan is a senior in the Classical Voice Conservatory at the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). A soprano, she studies voice under the expertise of Kathleen Martin of the Voice Classics studio at Laguna Niguel and has over 7 years of performance experience. Viveka has won several competitions including the International Grande Music Competition, Mount Saint Mary's University (MSMU) competition for solo voice, MTAC VOCE, Southern California Philharmonic Young Artist Concerto Competition, NATS Cal-Western, American Protégé, Vo-Cal, and Schmidt Vocal Competition. In addition, Viveka has also sung in masterclasses for world-renowned singers including mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, soprano Deborah Voigt, soprano Cecilia Violetta López, and baritone Matthew Worth. Viveka was selected and attended Summer Intensive ArtsBridge: ArtSong, where she worked with esteemed professors including Patty Thom, Salvatore Champagne, and Dr. Alison d'Amato. This past summer, she attended the renowned Washington National Opera (WNO) Institute. She has also served as co-program director of the Orange County School of the Arts’ CS Music Showcase Team since 2021 and was recently featured in the Fall 2022 issue of the Classical Singer magazine. Viveka was a part of OCSA’s production of Die Fledermaus as Rosalinda in 2023 and is looking forward to her role as Madame Herz in OCSA's production of The Impresario in 2024. She is particularly passionate about sharing her love for opera and literature by furthering youth literacy in her community, as co-president of the organization Artingual.
