Bio

Melinda Carlisle is a 17-year-old classical, musical theatre, and opera performer based out of Plymouth, Michigan. Melinda has been training in voice since 7th grade in 2018, with a private instructor. In 2018 she was selected as a member of the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp International Choir and traveled to France and Germany with the group in the summer of 2019. Since then she has studied voice participating in and competing in several Michigan scholastic Vocal Music Association events such as honors choir and Solo and Ensemble. As a high school student, Melinda has been an active member of the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Choir Program, performing in top-class ensembles and local solo events. Some of her recent highlights include being a 2022 Michigan Verdi Opera Competition Finalist and being an attendee at the 2022 Classical Singer National Convention and competing in 2nd round Musical Theatre and Semi-Final Classical performance. She has performed several master classes with distinguished faculty from institutions across the country. This school year she is a member of the University of Michigan Youth Chamber Singers, and spent her summer at the U of M Mpulse Vocal intensive. She hopes to continue her musical career in college majoring in Vocal Performance with a concentration in opera.
