Praised for her “well-rounded, creamy soprano” and “silvery...fine-spun sound” by MusicalAmerica, Michelle Trovato is quickly becoming recognized for her warm and agile lyric soprano voice and dynamic stage presence. This prize-winning young soprano has received awards from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the International Festival Society, the Liederkranz Foundation, Opera Index, Inc., Marie Kraja International Opera Competition (Albania), Opera Les Azuriales (France), and the Concorso Internazionale “P. Cappuccilli” (Italy). Other credits include: Seattle Opera, Opera Colorado, Utah Festival Opera, Bel Canto at the Caramoor Festival, Brooklyn Philharmonic, New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, Spokane Symphony, Stamford Symphony, and the Crimea Philharmonic Orchestra (Ukraine). Recent roles include: Violetta (La Traviata), the title roles in Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda, and Suor Angelica, Mimi (La Boheme), Liu (Turandot), Nedda (Paglicacci), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and Madame Lidoine in Dialogues of the Carmelites. Oratorio highlights include: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Haydn’s Lord Nelson and St. Nicholas Mass, Bach’s Magnificat in D, Handel’s Messiah and Israel in Egypt, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Poulenc’s Gloria, Faure’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Hear My Prayer. An accomplished recitalist, she made her New York City recital debut at Trinity Wall Street Church in a program of classical song and has presented programs throughout North America.
