Bio

Kate Norigian is a graduate of Rhode Island College with a Bachelor Degree in Voice Performance. Her training programs have included the Crittenden Opera Program in Boston, MA, theV.O.I.CExperience program in Tampa, FL as well as the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the tutelage of Renata Scotto in Rome, Italy.

Kate is a former Second Place winner of the Annmaria Saritelli DiPanni Bel Canto Scholarship Competition, a Finalist in the Talents of the World Competition in Newton, MA and Semifinalist in the Mildred Miller Competition in Pittsburgh, PA.

Kate’s role have included the role of Nedda from I Pagliacci with Opera Providence, a new work by composer Geoffrey Gibbs, William Sprague and his Women portraying the title role of Kate Chase Sprague, Pamina from the Magic Flute with Encore Opera, she has covered both the role of Carmen and Micaëla from Carmen with Commonwealth Lyric Opera Theater in Newton, MA, Mrs. Gobineau from the Medium in Peabody, MA as well as the role of Cathleen in Riders to the Sea with the Contemporary Theater in Wakefield, RI. Kate’s voice instructors have included Maria Spacagna and Margaret Lattimore. Kate sings local concerts with Encore Opera as well as within the Armenian community of New England and has sang for the Armenian Ambassador to the U.N. and was invited to sing the Star Spangled Banner for the annual Lincoln Dinner in Boston, MA.
