Hayden is a dedicated musician and high school student from Sequim, Washington, whose love for music has been a guiding force throughout his life. From an early age, he discovered the amazing ways music can express emotion, culture, and nature, ideas that transcend language, making music the universal form of connection.
While initially influenced by pop and musical theater, Hayden found his true passion in classical music, especially the Romantic era. He admires the works of Edvard Grieg, Franz Schubert, and Gaetano Donizetti, embracing their ability to evoke love, mourning, and deep emotion through music, without the need of understanding their phonetic language. Above all, Hayden strives to convey the essence of every piece he performs, ensuring its emotion resonates deeply with every listener.
Hayden has actively shaped his musical journey, earning recognition in prestigious events. Highlights include his selection as a tenor for WMEA/NAFME All-Northwest 2025, three consecutive years of excellence in WA State Solo and Ensemble, this year earning top scores on two classical baritone pieces, and placing third in the state with the Sequim Men's Ensemble. He was also a distinguished performer in WMEA All-State 2023 and 2024.
While primarily focused on classical music and its theoretical foundations, Hayden also has a deep passion for musical theater. Over the past three years, he has participated in every musical production at his high school, taking on roles such as Alexei Romanov in Anastasia, Lucas Beineke in The Addams Family, and Andrew Carnes in this year’s Oklahoma. In addition to his stage performances, Hayden has showcased his vocal talents in solo musical numbers at concerts, including Waving Through a Window from Dear Evan Hansen and Bring Him Home from Les Misérables.
Looking ahead, Hayden aspires to major in Vocal Performance focusing on his classical music development, he hopes to use this experience of vocal performance to later teach and foster the love of music in others. His dream is to attend the graduate program at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, furthering his education and one day becoming a professor, sharing his love for classical music with students and fostering the same deep appreciation that shaped his own journey.
