Cyerra Pemberton is a 22-year-old soprano from the Dayton, Ohio area. She is graduating this semester with a BM in Vocal Performance from Wright State University. She is a student of Ginger Minneman.
Throughout her time at Wright State, she has performed in various ensembles, including the Treble Chorus and Collegiate Chorale. Last spring, she received the Sarah Tipps Scholarship for Music, as well as performing her first opera role, Rosalinde, in Wright State’s production of Die Fledermaus. This semester, she debuted two roles for WSU Opera’s spring productions, Zita in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and Madame Goldentrill in Mozart’s The Impresario. She was delighted to be honored as a winner of the university’s Concerto Aria Competition this spring, performing Bernstein’s “Glitter and be Gay” with the university chamber orchestra.
In addition to pursuing her degree, Cyerra teaches private voice and piano lessons at The Piano Preparatory School in Beavercreek, sings with the Chancel Choir at the historic First Baptist Church of Dayton, and works as a freelance soprano in the Dayton area. She is very excited to continue her performance and education journey as she moves into a new chapter following graduation!
