Bio

American soprano Marissa Lake, based in Montréal, QC, has graced stages worldwide with her

compelling performances. Recent opera highlights include her remarkable portrayal of

Adele in Die Fledermaus with Stafford Opera Troupe as a Professional Opera Fellow. With

Opera McGill, she appeared as the title role in Handel’s Semele, Dew Fairy and Gretel in

Hänsel und Gretel and Galatea in Dean Burry’s newest opera Il guidizio di Pigmalione. Lake

has been an Opera Fellow with Kenosha Opera Festival, performing Amor in Gluck’s Orfeo ed

Euridice, and portrayed Oberto in Handel’s Alcina with Chicago Summer Opera. Lake is

excited to make her role debut as Mabel in Pirates of Penzance with Stafford Opera Troupe

this July. Originally from Wilmot, WI, Lake holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence

University and a Master of Music degree from McGill.
