Kaitlyn Epling, mezzo - soprano, is currently a student of Ivy Blair at Blair Academy for the Arts in Johnson City, TN and a senior at Home Life Academy in Watauga, TN. Ms. Epling was recently awarded Excellent and Superior ratings in the Blair Academy for the Arts Festival program from 2020-2023. Other notable achievements include nominations for the Honors Performance Series, acceptance into the program in 2023, and participation in 2024. Ms. Epling has been granted the opportunity to work with Kevin Massey, (Tarzan, Wicked, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Memphis, Big River), Kara Lindsay (Newsies, Wicked, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), and Laurel Harris (Wicked, Jagged, Little Pill, Beautiful: The Carol King Musical, Evita, In Transit). Ms Epling is currently enrolled in Bristol Academy where she is playing Marian Paroo in The Music Man and recently finished playing Yente in Fiddler on the Roof Jr. Ms. Epling was a part of the Barter Theater Youth Academy program for five years, where she was seen as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin Jr. in 2019. In 2016, Ms. Epling performed the roles of Violet Beauregarde in Willy Wonka Jr. and Marta in The Sound of Music Jr. Other roles include Banzai from The Lion King Jr. in 2017 and Grace in The Bonnie Kate’s 2018 performance of Screen Test. Special skills include black belt in Tae Kwon Do 2021 and semi-fluent in Spanish. She also was privileged to work as a stage manager for Blair Academy for the Arts in 2022. Upon graduation, Ms. Epling plans to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.
