Emma Nichols, soprano, is hailed for her ‘beautiful, honest interpretation’ (NATS) amidst her many performances. She studies vocal performance and French at Oregon State University, anticipating graduation in 2026. Her love of singing has inspired her musical training since age eight, and she currently studies with Amy Hansen. Highlights of her fledgling career explore many genres, including roles as Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief, Despina in Così fan tutte, Laurie in The Tender Land, Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Brenda Strong in Catch Me If You Can, Shelby Thorpe in The Spitfire Grill, as well as swing roles as Sophie and Lisa in Mamma Mia!, Maria in West Side Story, and Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

Emma was recently a semifinalist in the University/Pre-Professional Category for Musical Theatre at the Classical Singer Vocal Competition, as well as a regional finalist and 2024 winner in the Musical Theatre Northwest Region for Lower College Treble for NATS, and was awarded 3rd place in the Portland Chamber Orchestra Young Artist Competition. Emma has also advanced in the Classical Singers Competition in both the Musical Theatre and Classical categories.

In addition to her love of music and singing, Emma is fluent in the French language and taught English while living in Bordeaux, France. She returns often to visit friends and take in performances.
