Sophia Kaushik, soprano, is a sophomore at Sacred Heart Preparatory, Atherton. She is a Classical Voice student at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-College, where she has been studying with Christine Abraham since the age of eight. Sophia is a medalist and winner of awards in regional, national, and international voice competitions. She has performed on the renowned stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Musikverein in Vienna. Sophia regularly performs in vocal recitals and opera scenes productions with San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Most recently, she has been cast in a Soprano Ensemble role with San Francisco Lamplighters Music Theatre for the production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Sorcerer". Sophia is an active community member at her high school, performing as a soloist at school-wide events with choral, a capella and jazz ensembles. She is a frequent singer at charitable concerts throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and is passionate about supporting the call for diversity and inclusion in the world of opera.
