Lisa Algozzini is an Italian-American soprano praised by The New York Times for her performance “filled with gripping details” and as "powerful and rich in substance" by Der Tagesspiegel. Most recently, she received rave reviews for her successful role debut as Lady Macbeth (MACBETH) in New York City. From this important debut, the Wall Street Journal deemed her to have "dramatic soprano capacity" to move forward in some of the most challenging repertoire. In 2023, she will make her debut in the complete double bill as Santuzza (CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA) and Nedda (PAGLIACCI) with the Singapore Lyric Opera. She has appeared in operas all over the world including: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the USA. Starting her career as a soubrette, she has now developed into full soprano roles including Fiordiligi (COSÌ FAN TUTTE), the title role of Handel's ALCINA, Micaela (CARMEN), Musetta (LA BOHÈME), Nedda (PAGLIACCI), Lauretta (GIANNI SCHICCHI), Angelica (SUOR ANGELICA) and has performed all 3-women of DON GIOVANNI: Zerlina, Donna Anna and has become in high demand for her Donna Elvira which she has performed all over the world including the State Opera of Liberec in Czechia which earned her a nomination for the Best Singer of 2020 at the theater. She is an alumna of The Juilliard School, Aspen Music Festival and Renata Scotto Opera Academy in New York and Rome. She holds both Italian and US-American citizenship.
