Sophia Zhong

Sophia Zhong, a 16 year old from Sunnyvale, California, began kindling her interest in singing from age 4 at church choir. She is currently studying with Eugene Brancoveanu at Colorful Universe Music School. She was named a California Arts Scholar and received the Governor’s Medallion upon completion of the CSSSA program in 2024. Sophia won gold with a group production of Cabaret at the San Francisco Heritage Festival in 2023 and performed multiple musicals at MTCA in both 2023 and 2024. She won second place at the American Protege competition, and second place at Charleston Music competition in 2024. Additionally, she passed the Royal Conservatory of Music Level 9 Voice Exam with Honors and earned a perfect score of 5 on the AP Music Theory exam.
