Alexander (Alex) Pyun was born in Manhattan, New York City. He took piano lessons as a boy from Lucia Ahn of the Ahn Trio and violin lessons with Giyun Alyssa Kim. As a second grader at the Lower Lab Elementary School in Upper East Side, he passed the audition for the Young People’s Chorus and has been a member since 2016. After the Prelude and the Intermezzo, Alex has been singing with the boys-only group, Amani.

Alex has been studying with Mr. Yohan Yi, baritone and member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus. He is attending Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (often referred to simply as LaGuardia in the 1980 film Fame) as a vocal arts major.
