Bio

Canadian soprano Rachel Pinevska, known for her “sparkling, nuanced” singing (Cut-Common magazine) is a multifaceted performer with an irresistible stage presence. In 2023 she made her debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, singing Prima Cercatrice and covering Prima Conversa in Il Trittico/Suor Angelica. She has performed as a soloist for Opera Queensland, Opera Australia, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Q, Australian Contemporary Opera Company, Brisbane City Opera, Musica Viva and the Indemini Festival.

Ms. Pinevska’s operatic roles include Königin der Nacht/Die Zauberflöte, Zerbinetta and Najade/Ariadne auf Naxos, Frasquita/Carmen, Fiordiligi and Despina/Cosi fan tutte, Tytania/A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Erste Dame and Papagena/Die Zauberflöte, and Dafne/Apollo e Dafne.

In concert with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Rachel has sung the arias of Olympia/Les contes d’Hoffmann, Adele/Die Fledermaus, and Queen of the Night/The Magic Flute. In 2019 She premiered the Soprano 1 solo in A church made of glass by Elliott Gyger with Opera Queensland’s NOW Festival.

As a concert soloist Ms. Pinevska’s repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah, Hayden’s Paukenmesse and Theresienmesse, Monteverdi’s Vespers, Ravel’s Chansons Madécasses, and cantatas, chamber, and concert works by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi and Purcell. As a Lied performer, Rachel Pinevska has given concerts at the Indemini Festival, and at the Omnibus Theatre in London, U.K. with her collective Ensemble Vivica.
