Mykola Piddubnyk, born in 1995 in Rivne, Ukraine, began his musical education in 2003 at
the M. Lysenko Music School No. 1 in Rivne, majoring in piano. From 2010, he studied
choral conducting, first at the Rivne Music College, then at the Rivne University of Arts,
graduating with a Master's degree in Choral Conducting in 2019.
In 2019, Mykola Piddubnyk won 2nd prize at the international competition “Premier” in Kyiv.
Since September 2019, he has been studying voice with KS Prof. Matthias Henneberg at the
University of Music Dresden (HfM Dresden). In November 2021, he performed the role of
Diambar in the opera "Oniros" by Alberto Arroyo. In January 2022, he was a finalist in the
Albert Lortzing Competition in Leipzig.
In 2022, he performed the role of Mr. Olsen in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene in the annual opera
production of the HfM Dresden. In November 2022, Mykola sang the role of the High Priest
in the opera "Orpheus and Eurydice" by J.G. Naumann with the Elbland Philharmonie.
In 2023, as part of a university project, he sang the role of the Boor in the opera The Boor by
Dominick Argento. In 2023 and 2024, Mykola took part in masterclasses with Christoph
Prégardien and Luca de Marchi.
In January 2025, Mykola made his debut at the Semperoper in the world premiere of the
opera Change the World. In March 2025, he was covering rehearsals at the Semperoper for
the role of Sciarrone in Tosca by G. Puccini.
He also performed the roles of SS guard, SS doctor, and Count in the opera "Die Weiße
Rose" (The White Rose) by U. Zimmermann as part of a university production.
In May 2025, he was awarded a scholarship by LiedBasel and participated in the LiedBasel
Festival, where he also took part in masterclasses with Patricia Petibon and James Baillieu.
In July 2025, he completed his Master’s degree, and in September 2025, he appears at the
Theater Görlitz in the role of Jacub in the world premiere of the opera Krabat.
