Karah Rhoades, a 21-year-old soprano from West Linn, Oregon, is earning her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Arts and Opera at the USC Thornton School of Music, studying with Professor Derrick Lawrence. A Dean’s List student and Academic Achievement Award recipient, she also minors in dance at the USC Kaufman School of Dance. Karah recently appeared in USC’s productions of Our Town and Opera Scenes, and portrayed Dido in Dido and Aeneas. In May, she was honored to perform the national anthem for an audience of 35,000 at USC’s Commencement Ceremony at the LA Coliseum. Earlier this year, she was named a finalist in Opera Buffs' “Artists of the Future” competition. Her upcoming roles include La Contessa in Giordano’s Mese Mariano and Doralba in Cimarosa’s L’impresario in Angustie with Opera Seme in Tuscany. Passionate about storytelling through music, Karah is dedicated to refining her craft and building a career in opera.
