Bio

Anthony J. Mattson, from NYC is a Cathedral Preparatory High School senior. Anthony began formal vocal instruction at age 7 as singing had shown to be his true passion. Anthony has been in the National Children’s Chorus for 7 years and is currently a Scholars Division tenor. Since 2013 Anthony has been performing as a supernumerary at The Metropolitan Opera. He participated in summer vocal festivals (“Narnia Vocal Arts Festival” and “Opera Viva!”) in Italy in 2021 and 2022. In 2020 and 2021 he won four first place classical vocal awards in the American Protégé and the Management Italian Festivals (MIF) Association competitions. Anthony supports his community and heritage as a church choir member and a regular performer at NYC Italian-American events. In 2022 Anthony sang the US national anthem for the NY Mets at Citifield and both the US and Italian anthems at NYPD and Nassau County PD events.
