Bio

The lyric baritone Robin YeJune Park was born on August 25,1998, in Daegu, South Korea, and has been residing in Germany since 1999. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in music, with

his father as a tenor and his mother as a contrabass player, Robin experienced a rich, multicultural environment that fostered his ability to converse fluently in German and Korean, his motherlanguages.

In his early years, Robin didn't venture into singing, but at the age of thirteen, a genuine passion for it unexpectedly took hold of him. He started creating his own songs, exploring the realms of R&B. To refine his vocal skills, Robin made a humble return to the basics, embarking on his first singing lessons at the Cottbus Conservatory in 2016.

In 2017, he courageously entered the world of competitions with "Jugend Musiziert,"

participating in the classical singing category. Robin not only secured the first prize at

the final round, "Bundeswettbewerb," but also received two special prizes in the

regional and federal state rounds. The following year, in 2018, Robin collaborated with

pianist Tom Zisowsky in the Lied-Duo category, achieving the second prize at the final.

The same year brought triumph at the "Carl Schröder Wettbewerb," earning the first

prize and a special acknowledgment for the highest points.

Following these accomplishments, Robin humbly sought further growth, applying and

being accepted to the University of Arts in Berlin. Under the guidance of Prof. Aris

Argiris, he dedicated himself to his studies until earning his Bachelor's degree. Initially

focusing on tenor studies for the first three years, Robin embraced contemporary

operas like "Georgia Bottoms," portraying the character "Sheriff Bill," and Viktor

Ullmann's "Der Kaiser von Atlantis," embodying the role of "Ein Soldat."

In 2022, Robin found his true calling as a lyric baritone, leading to a recording

opportunity with the esteemed "Deutsches Symphonie Orchester" and the "Ernst Senff

chorus." He showcased his evolving vocal skills by contributing to the Bass Solo of

Ludwig van Beethoven's "Chorphantasie," under the baton of Roland Böer. Later that

year, he gratefully accepted an engagement at the State Theatre in Cottbus as part of

the opera chorus. In the autumn of the same year, Robin modestly made his debut in

the role of "Baron von Hahn" in Hans Peter Preu's "Das Katzenhaus," conducted by

Christian Möbius. This performance was followed by receiving a Förderpreis at the

Anneliese Rothenberger Competition in 2023.
