Alan T. Reed received his Vocal Performance degree from Houston Baptist University in Houston, TX. and appeared in such roles as Guglielmo in "Cosi Fan Tutte", Ike in "Sweet Betsy from Pike", Guccio and Master Spineloccio in "Gianni Schicci", Martinu in "Comedy on the Bridge", A man with a shoe sample kit and Second Puppet in "Postcard from Morocco" and Henry Davis in "Street Scene". He has appeared in five productions with Houston Grand Opera, The Municipal Opera Company of Baltimore, five productions with Washington Concert Opera, 11 productions with Wolf Trap Opera & 25 productions with The Washington National Opera. His roles include Henry Davis in "Street Scene" (Wolf Trap), Sergeant Brown in "Carmen Jones" (The Kennedy Center) with Vanessa Williams, Police Captain & Judge #2 in "Volpone" (Wolf Trap), Jesus in the gospel musical "More than Triumphant" (Evangel Cathedral) with Beverly Crawford & Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Guest Soloist for the National Symphony Orchestra’s "Young People's Concert Series", the Undertaker in "Porgy & Bess" (Washington National Opera premier), David in "A hand of bridge" (Maryland Medical Association), The Usher in "Rigoletto" (Washington National Opera) & 2nd Burgess in "Peter Grimes" (Washington National Opera premier). A resident of Huntingtown, Maryland, he was nominated for “Teacher of the Year” (’04), “Outstanding Music Educator” (’05) for Fairfax County Public Schools, Assistant Choral Director for Prince George’s County Public Schools - Honor Choir, and Senior Director for Drama at Evangel Cathedral in Upper Marlboro, MD (’12 – ’15).
