Bio

Lyric soprano Holly Thomson DiClaudio graduated from Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Chico. A seasoned performer, teacher, lecturer, and clinician, she performed as soloist in famous venues such as “The Terrace Theater” at The Kennedy Center, The McManus Theater, Peabody Conservatory’s Friedberg Concert Hall and with Washington D.C. Summer Opera. She has been featured as guest soloist with orchestras on the east and west coasts with specific recognition for her “moving interpretation” of Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, which is her personal favorite.

Holly founded DiClaudio Studios, a successful music school with a full-time voice studio. Many of her students have gone on to pursue music in college successfully auditioning for musical theater and vocal performance programs at Oklahoma University (Musical Theater), Pace University (Musical Theater), Point Park University (Musical Theater), Oklahoma City University (Vocal Performance), Baldwin Wallace (Vocal Performance), Indiana University (Vocal Performance),  University of Georgia (Vocal Performance), University of South Carolina (Vocal Performance) and others.

Holly was a finalist in The American Prize, Professional Art Song Division and The National Association of Teachers of Singing awarded her an Independent Teacher Fellowship. She has a deep appreciation for the intermingling of poetry and song hopes to create a podcast or eventual doctoral dissertation on the subject. She dabbles in amateur nature photography and watercolors. Holly’s passion for hiking keeps her outdoors in her spare time. She is in her third year of completing the 52 hike Challenge, recently climbed the summit of Guadalupe Peak, and succeeded in hiking 20 miles in 8 hours at the Mammoth March in Alabama!
