Kaitlyn, now 16, joined Seattle Opera's Youth Opera programs at age 7 and has performed in every youth production offered since, holding principal, featured, soloist and/or ensemble roles in nine youth shows and one mainstage show. Kaitlyn joined Seattle Opera's Teen Vocal Studio pre-college training program three years ago, starting in 8th grade (she's now a sophomore). Through her years of working with Seattle Opera, she has maximized every opportunity to learn and grow as an artist through performance, masterclass work, mentorship both as a mentee by professional opera singers and a mentor to younger performers. She gives back to the organization through volunteering, fundraising, and being a vocal advocate for Seattle opera and the arts. She has also participated in select school choirs since elementary school and has been featured as a regular soloist in concerts and community events. Active in her school's theater department, she is working toward Thespian Society induction. She is also an active member of her high school's American Sign Language Honor Society and enjoys performing ASL at concerts and events to make music more accessible. She consistently earns superior ratings in solo, small and large ensemble adjudications, regional and national competitions. Kaitlyn is looking forward to continuing to learn and grow her skills throughout high school and college, where she plans to pursue Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in vocal performance/opera, with a goal of learning multiple languages, living abroad, and singing around the world.
