Katie Kelley, soprano, is a Boston-based musician who has performed on stages across the Northeast. She specializes in classical voice, but has trained in musical theatre and jazz and plays violin and viola. Katie discovered her passion for voice through choir, singing in community and festival choirs such as the NAfME All-National Mixed Choir, the Susquehanna Valley Chorale, and the PMEA All-State Chorus, where she placed first in Soprano 1. In 2024, Katie was a semifinalist in the Classical Singer Vocal Competition Classical High School Division and won an Encouragement Award in the Schmidt Vocal Competition Pennsylvania Region. She premiered the leading role of Daughter in Grigori Balasanyan’s new opera Silent Tears with the Fenway Opera Club, and performed the title role in Mary Poppins at Lewisburg Area High School. As an instrumentalist, Katie has played principal viola in the Williamsport Symphony Youth Orchestra, the PMEA District 8 Orchestra, and the Susquehanna University pit orchestra. She is originally from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Previous teachers include Alyssa Ronco (MM, BM) and Dr. Marilyn Bulli (DMA, MM, BA). Currently, Katie is pursuing her BM in Vocal Performance at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, in the studio of Sandra Piques Eddy (MM, BM).
