Bio

Rachel Carter Murphy has been the resident soprano at The Community Church of Vero Beach (CCOVB) since 2017. Her repertoire and concert experience includes Oratorio, Opera, Art Song, Sacred Music and more.

As part of the ongoing tradition of excellence in music and the fine arts at CCOVB, Rachel has performed the soprano solos in the Verdi Requiem, Faure Requiem, Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living, and Poulenc's Stabat Mater.

In concert, Rachel has dazzled local audiences in her interpretations of French Art Song, Russian Romances, Dvorak's Sacred Songs, Opera Arias, and Musical Theater.

Rachel has been frequently requested as a soloist for other churches, including soprano soloist in Messiah by Handel at Palm City Presbyterian Church in both 2019 and 2021. Next season, Rachel will sing the soprano solos in Messiah at First Baptist Church in Vero Beach, FL.

Rachel was pleased to be part of the Vero Beach Opera Chorus in their January 2023 production of Donizetti's L'Elisir D'Amore.

Rachel lives with her husband Michael in Vero Beach, Florida.
