Bio

Colleen Angel Fano (17) is a passionate vocalist planning to major in commercial music and vocal performance in college. She has been in choir since the age of 6, and has had a love for music her whole life. Her range lies in a variety of genres including, gospel, soul, r&b, pop, musical theatre, and more. She has been enrolled in choir for all four years of high school, and is currently in her second year of Mater Dei Choir’s Honors Chamber Singers directed by the esteemed Jodi Reed. In the video linked, Colleen Angel is the respected soloist of Donald Lawrence’s heartwarming gospel song, “Whom Shall I Fear,” at the Riverside Community College’s Fall Concert. She will also be performing it in March, at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City, alongside all the Mater Dei advanced choirs. She is asked to sing for many varsity games, including CIF games, and football games such as the famous Servite vs Mater Dei. She has also been involved with Mater Dei’s a capella group, Vocal FX since her sophomore year as an alto and a tenor. Now in her senior year, she is the All Choir PR & Media Chair, in charge of publicity for all of Mater Dei Choir. Receiving awards such as Most Inspirational Singer in Bel Canto her sophomore year, and Vocalist of the Year in Chambers her junior year, Colleen takes so much pride, humility, dedication, and love into her music. Her passion for music is only amplified by her love for performing. Performing for people is where she finds herself at her happiest. She truly values the connections she makes with other human beings. Leading with love, kindness, and charisma towards everybody she meets, Colleen Angel truly loves being around everybody. Colleen also has built a love for musical theatre in the past three years. She has participated in the Honors Musical Theatre class for three years, where she has learned the arts of dance, acting, and singing, and now holds the position of student director. She has worked on ensembles in The Addams Family, Josephine in Urinetown, and Asaka in Once On This Island. Colleen Angel has worked not only on stage, but off stage during multiple productions, including assistant stage manager during Shakespeare’s, The Tempest and many more team and lead positions. With this knowledge, she has the utmost respect for everything that goes on, off and on the stage. Outside of school, Colleen sings at Christ Cathedral for the contemporary mass every Sunday. Through the same Church, she sings at retreats, funerals, weddings, and more. Taking voice lessons from her sophomore year til present, the craft and artistry of the voice and performance, is one that she takes very seriously. Going into commercial music and vocal performance, will hopefully provide a pathway to doing what she loves for the rest of her life.
