Reagan Conklin, 20, is a junior at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where she is pursuing a B.M. in Vocal Performance. She studies under the tutelage of Dr. Matthew Markham.
Reagan made her operatic debut in 2022 and has since performed many roles with the UWSP Opera Workshop and American Gothic Performing Arts. This April, she performed the role of Pamina in the UWSP Opera Workshop’s production of Mozart’s "The Magic Flute", and she will perform the role of the Beggar Woman in Sondheim's "Sweeney Todd" this June with American Gothic Performing Arts. Other past roles include Galatea in Handel’s "Acis and Galatea", La Ciesca in Puccini’s "Gianni Schicchi", The Announcer in Douglas Moore’s "Gallantry", and Laetitia (cover) in Menotti’s "The Old Maid and the Thief". Recently, Reagan was awarded first place in the junior classical division at the Wisconsin NATS competition in Milwaukee and has been a NATS national semifinalist for the past two years. She is the recipient of the Krishnan and Yegneswaran Family College Scholarship for people who stutter, as well as the Eunice DeBaker Vocal Scholarship, Gretchen D’Armand Vocal Scholarship, and the Urcille Power Merit Scholarship. Other notable awards include the WMTA Outstanding Musical Accomplishment Award (2021) and the National Choral Award (2022).
Reagan’s musical endeavors have helped her understand the value of communication and the many forms it can take. She is honored to use her art as a platform to advocate for the stuttering community.
