Katrina Franco, soprano, hails from San Francisco, California. She is a junior at Stanford University pursuing dual degrees in Symbolic Systems and Music, with a focus on integrating welfare accessibility with technology and human-centered design. She studies with Benjamin Liupaogo and coaches with Laura Dahl. Her foundational training includes classical voice studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division and musical theater training at the American Conservatory Theater’s Young Conservatory Program.
Katrina has participated in masterclasses with Johannes Kammler, Elizabeth Futral, Joseph Li, and Catherine Cook. She has also had the privilege to study under Christòpheren Nomura, Christine Abraham, Phillip Harris, and Heidi Moss-Erickson.
Katrina has performed with organizations including Lamplighters Music Theatre, American Conservatory Theater’s main stage, Korsa Musical Theater, the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA), and Northwestern University’s National High School Institute (NHSI). Her stage experience spans operetta, contemporary plays, and musical theater. Selected roles include Kate in The Pirates of Penzance, Heather Duke in Heathers, Jane Doe in Ride the Cyclone, #14 in The Wolves, Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown, Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, and Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
On campus, Katrina has sung Soprano II with the Stanford Chamber Chorale for the past two years, and is currently the assistant music director for Stanford Talisman, a student-run a cappella ensemble that centers global storytelling through song.
