Rashida Ashley is a dynamic opera singer, producer, and writer dedicated to bringing elegance, artistry, and innovation to the classical music world. With a passion for storytelling through music, she captivates audiences with her expressive performances and commitment to artistic excellence.
A graduate of New York University’s MFA in Creative Writing program, Rashida seamlessly blends her literary background with her musical artistry, crafting performances that are both emotionally compelling and intellectually engaging. She has taken center stage as the lead performer and producer of An Evening of Opera at QED Astoria, a three-month concert series (February–April 2025) designed to uplift emerging talent and foster a deeper appreciation for opera in diverse audiences.
Beyond the stage, Rashida is an accomplished writer and arts advocate, having contributed to publications such as The MRKT, Edelman, and Synergetic Operas, where she spotlights industry leaders and explores the intersection of music, culture, and social change. Her experience in digital media and marketing has allowed her to expand opera’s reach, engaging wider audiences through storytelling, content creation, and community-driven initiatives.
With a vision of making opera more accessible and immersive, Rashida continues to produce innovative performances, collaborate with talented artists, and explore the intersection of classical music and contemporary storytelling.
