Bio

Hollis Herrington Carbrey is a rising senior at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, Indiana and studies with Ms. Angela Brown. She recently performed the role of Sophie in the Brebeuf production of Mamma Mia! As a sophomore, Miss Carbrey was cast as Alice Beineke in The Addams Family and was in the ensemble of Camelot as a freshman. She has also performed in the Civic Theatre productions of Revue! and Saturday Night Fever as well as We Will Rock You with Summer Stock Stage. She was cast in La Bohème with the Indianapolis Opera and was a soloist at Disney World with the Young Voices of Indianapolis Choir. Miss Carbrey also performed as Cinderella in the St. Richard’s Episcopal School production of Into the Woods and as young Cosette of Les Misérables. She has been privileged to perform in the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. As a chorister with the Trinity Episcopal Church Choir, she sung in grand cathedrals such as the American Cathedral in Paris, France, Norwich Cathedral and Ely Cathedral in England. She was also honored to sing the National Anthem at the IHSAA State Soccer Championship game this year.

At Brebeuf, Miss Carbrey participates in four sports: varsity cross country team where she qualified for the IHSAA Regionals, varsity swim team where she placed 5th in breaststroke in the IHSAA Sectionals, varsity cheer team, and junior varsity tennis team. She is involved in many clubs including president of Raising Aware for Animals (RAFA), Breakfast Club for the Homeless, Riley Dance Marathon, Girls in Engineering Math and Science (GEMS), Students Against Childhood Cancer, and Conservation Club. Miss Carbrey is most proud of initiating Brebeuf Baubles and Bling: A Mother’s Day Jewelry Boutique for Children at two voucher schools. Even with all these activities, she has a 4.25 grade point average. During her free time, Hollis enjoys reading, bullet journaling, and baking.
