Carla is blessed by God to be a New Orleans-based multi-genre singer. She grew up on the West Coast of Canada, so her ear was tuned to folk music as well as Gospel from her parents' preferences. She initially started her formal voice studies in jazz, but then she was drawn to the richness of the classical vocal repertoire and completed her Master's Degree in Voice Performance from Indiana University. After gigging in Toronto, Canada, and the greater San Francisco area, where she performed in opera choruses and workshops (including the Opera Academy of California), then having three children, Carla is creating content as she is inspired in various genres. Nobody puts Carla in the corner! Her all-time favorite genre is character-based comedy, which she is currently exploring and adding to her varied voice performance activities.
