Bio

Erick Mosteller is a young artist, singer and actor focused on engaging with music and characters in a way that tells stories, brings truth and understanding, and connects the stories of the past and present to the audience in a meaningful way. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He began his musical training as a violinist at age 4 and subsequently switched to classical singing at age 17, at the beginning of his senior year in high school. He began studying with professor Michael Chipman who was faculty at Westminster college in Salt Lake City, and later began his undergraduate studies at The University of Southern California, studying under the world-renown baritone professor Rodney Gilfry. During his time at USC, Erick has had many performance opportunities, including performing in the chorus of 3 full opera productions, including George Frederic Handel’s Alcina, Christoph Willibald Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, and Benjamin Britten’s Curlew River. Alongside his work with the main stage USC opera productions, Erick has also performed many roles in the undergraduate-run Chamber Opera of USC, playing Car Man and Lives at Home Guy in Michael Ching’s Speed Dating Tonight, the Usher in Arthur Sullivan and William Schwenck Gilbert’s operetta Trial by Jury, and Cinderella’s Prince in Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods. As well as having a passion for singing and performing in both opera and musical theater, Erick also has a great love for theater and acting, having won the “Best Actor” award at the Utah Shakespeare Festival competition for his role as Caliban in Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
