N. B.  This recording features the version of ?Le violette? that appears in the G. Schirmer anthology of 24 Italian Songs and Arias (LB 1722).   It differs so substantially from the original version (which appears in the John Glenn Paton [ed.] edition of 26 Italian Songs and Arias [Alfred Publishing Co., Van Nuys, CA, 1991]) that the Paton edition cannot be used successfully with this recording.
