Das Leben ist der schwüle Tag.
The life is the sultry day.
Es dunkelt schon, mich schläfert
It grows-dark already, I-am sleepy,
Der Tag hat mich müd' gemacht.
The day has me tired made.
Über mein Bett erhebt sich ein Baum
Over my bed rises itself a tree,
D'rin singt die junge Nachtigall
