Show Synopsis:
Austin Bennett has had his heart broken by Catherine and Marcy Fitzwilliams has recently broken up with Larry. Their best friends set them up on a double-date after meeting on J-Date and deciding to go on a date themselves, but while Jeff and Diana hit it off, Marcy and Austin do not. Marcy decides to help Austin win Catherine back, and though Catherine rejects Austin again, he ends up on a fun dinner date with Marcy and they begin to fall for each other. Jeff and Diana decide to be "friends with benefits" and Marcy decides that she's not ready for love. Catherine asks Austin to go back to her, but Marcy starts to reconsider her answer and tells Austin she loves him despite their differences and his eccentricites. Austin is offended by this and Diana tells Jeff she wants to be exclusive, causing both couples to separate.  Marcy and Diana get drunk and realize they're not ready to quit on their men, and Diana helps Austin see that he loves Marcy.  Jeff and Diana end up together, and Marcy and Austin realize they can love each other's differences and flaws.	

Character:
Marcy Fitzwilliams, a spontanous and impulsive photographer in her late 20s who wants to find true love but does not want to compromise who she is for a man.

Song Context:
Austin tells Marcy that he loves her, but Marcy is not sure she wants to be in a serious relationship with anyone.	

Fun Facts:
1) The plot of this musical is based very loosely on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. 
2) Erin Palm played Marcy in Intimate Theatre Productions' production of I Love You Because in 2012 and described the character as "exciting," "full of magic," and "high maintenance."
