Seiner Schwingen frische Regung
Its? wings fresh stirring

Cools the heart?s deep wound. 

Kosend spielt er mit dem Staube,
Caressingly plays it with the dust,

Jagt ihn auf in leichten Wölkchen,
Chases it up in light little clouds,

Treibt zur sichern Rebenlaube
Drives to the secure grape arbor

Der Insekten frohes Völkchen.
The insects happy little creatures. 

Lindert sanft der Sonne Glühen,
It soothes gently the sun?s burning,

Kühlt auch mir die heißen Wangen,
Cools also for me the burning cheeks,

Küßt die Reben noch im Fliehen,
Kisses the vines still in flight,

Die auf Feld und Hügel prangen.
Which on the field and hills are resplendent.

Und mir bringt sein leises Flüstern
And to me brings its soft whispering

Von dem Freunde tausend Grüße;
From the friend a thousand greetings;

Eh' noch diese Hügel düstern,
Before still these hills grow dark,

Grüßen mich wohl tausend Küsse.
Greet me surely a thousand kisses.
